You may order your repeat medicines in the following ways:

• Use the printed slip attached to your prescription.
  Tick the boxes of items that you need and place the slip in the boxes at Reception.
• You may also post the slip to us but you need to enclose a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post the prescription to you.
• You may order online through EMIS Access

EMIS is our clinical database and the latest developments enable us to offer new services to patients through online EMIS Access. We are going to start with repeat prescriptions so that those of you with internet access may order repeats in this way. Once this is established we may add other services which could include:

• Booking appointments
• Advising us of change of address or other contact details
• Secure short messages
• New patient pre-registration

Before you can start using the online prescription ordering service you must first register. EMIS Access uses encryption to the highest internet standards to ensure that your personal information remains confidential. We must be sure that only genuine patients register so:

Step 1:
Collect a registration form from reception at Chirk. This will contain all the information that you need to register for Access including a unique PIN number.

Step 2:
Visit the practice website at www.chirksurgery.co.uk ; select ‘Online Services’ and then click the Emis Access logo to create your account or to log in.

Step 3:
Enter your personal registration details as they appear on your form. Once you have registered successfully, destroy the form.

You are now ready to order repeat prescriptions online.

• EMIS Access is constantly monitored but, like other systems, it may be unavailable for short periods owing to maintenance, upgrades or faults. In this event, please try later or order at the practice.
• When you register on line you will be asked to create your own password. Please note that if you forget this we cannot retrieve it and you will have to apply to re-register.

Repeat Prescriptions Online

• You may only order medicines that are on your repeat list.
• When we have received your order your EMIS Access page will display ‘Accepted’. This does not mean that it is ready - it simply acknowledges that we have received it.
• Your prescription will be ready for collection 48 hours (two working days) following your submission.
• Prescriptions will not normally be issued before the due date.
• Only order items that you actually need
• Do not stock pile medicines - they have a use-by date
• You will need to see a doctor/nurse every 6 or 12 months to review your medications so please make an appointment when it is indicated on your prescription

If you normally collect your prescription from a chemist please enter the branch in the text box at the bottom of the order form. You will need an agreement with your chemist for this service. The following pharmacies currently collect from the practice:

• Rowlands, Chirk
• Boots, Oswestry

You also need to tell us, in the text box, whether you want to collect your prescription from:

• Chirk or
• St Martins
